My recommendation assuming Windows is on C: and D: is an equal or faster drive would be D: 128/1024 With 512M of RAM you should not need very much pagefile. Setting the lower limit to 128M would conserve hard disk space. Setting the upper limit to 1024M would allow it to grow if some program misbehaves and starts

I have two partition on my machine ( C:\ and D:\ ) There is pagefile.sys file in my C:\ drive with size of 180MB. Also there is pagefile.sys in D:\ drive of size 200MB. Why is that I'm having these files of unnessasary sizes on my hard disk on both the drives.What is these file required for ?
